Course Overview

This training course in advocacy consists of three parts:

The first part (45 Minutes) discusses the origins of, and the philosophy behind, the social phenomenon of advocacy. It will also explain the misconceptions and myths that are often perceived about this particular field.

The second part (45 Minutes) intends to walk participants through the planning process for any successful advocacy project.

It will teach participants about  how to be able to develop a sound visionary advocacy plan and how to minimize the risks that may lead to the failure of any advocacy project.

The third part (30 Minutes) focuse on the evaluation process for an implemented advocacy project/campaign, and explains how

the process could be used as a tool to measure the sustainability of future advocacy activities.

Workshop Overview

This workshop is designed to equip students and employees with state-of-the-art knowledge and best practices needed to successfully design and implement innovation strategies.

First, we discuss the foundations of innovation, gaining an understanding why innovation is an important driver of firms’ competitive advantage. Second, we explain the distinction between sustained and disruptive innovations and show the importance of balanced innovation strategies that take into account both types of innovation. Third, we discuss how firms implement innovation strategies. Course Overview

Respecting, promoting, protecting and fulfilling human rights are amongst the primary duties of sovereign States toward their citizens. Regional or international tribunals come mainly into play where the State is deliberately or consistently violating rights and when it fails to respect its obligations toward its citizens under international law.Resorting to regional and international mechanisms has become necessary for the acknowledgement that violations are occurring at the national level.Regional and international concern or assistance may be the trigger for securing rights domestically, but that is mostly done when all domestic avenues have been utilised and exhausted.

The mechanisms, albeit different in nature, feed into each other and are mutually reinforcing. Taken as a whole, their recommendations are critical in translating legal obligations and State’s commitments into a practical roadmap to improve the human rights situation in any country and further sustainable development.

Outcome Objectives for Participants

1-The course will assist the participants to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to use the diverse international human rights complaint mechanisms in pursuit of justice for complainants of human rights violations.
